Southeast Asian Games gold medalist and karate ace Jamie Lim took to social media to remember her father, the late Samboy Lim.In a post on Instagram, Jamie posted photos with her dad when she was still young, with a simple white hear emoji as caption. Athletes such as Hidilyn Diaz, Thirdy Ravena, and Japoy Lizardo commented their condolences to Jamie.Back in 2019, Jamie relished her SEA Games medal success, a feat her dad accomplished before in basketball.“I can’t believe I’m replicating his achievement so I could say that I’m like him and I always wanted to do that,” she said then.In an interview on Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel last June, Jamie spoke about the support she got from her parents.”My dad would be so supportive, like every time I cried because of losing, he would say it’s okay, just keep trying harder, keep working, because it’s normal. And he knows what it’s like to compete and to lose or win. So it was very simple.
