Jared Bahay is still an Eagle.The Ateneo Blue Eagles on Thursday announced that they have secured the commitment of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu standout.In a statement, Bahay said he wanted to continue his Jesuit education — a major factor in his decision to bring his talent to Loyola Heights.”I have decided to continue my studies at Ateneo de Manila and play for the Ateneo men’s NBA team. I believe that sustaining my Jesuit education will help unlock and sharpen my potential to the fullest, both on and off the court. Growing up and experiencing Cura Personalis at SHS-ADC, I am confident that their vision and holistic approach will contribute to my growth and maturity as a student, athlete, and person,” Bahay said.The CESAFI Most Valuable Player, who led the Magis Eagles to a championship in the league’s juniors division last December, also said he is looking forward to play under Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin.”I look forward to joining Coach Tab, the team, and the rest of the Ateneo community soon,” he added.Baldwin, meanwhile, said he is happy about Bahay’s decision.”We’re really happy that Jared opted to come to Ateneo.
